When I started WHAMMY’s, it was born out of a simple, undeniable necessity: law-abiding citizens need a place to share mechanical truth, train safely, and build community without having to whisper in fear. For years, we gathered on big tech platforms because that was where the people were. But every month, we watched the walls close in.
Algorithms that don’t know the difference between a bolt carrier group and a bottle rocket began striking posts. Members were forced to spell words backwards and photoshop dollar signs out of historic photographs just to avoid automated bans. When a platform forces you to censor legal conversations between free citizens, you are no longer a community—you are a tenant waiting for eviction.
